简介：宜兰青年林育信（彭于晏 饰）曾经在体操队度过了快乐的少年时代，那时活泼好动的小阿信拥有出色的天分而颇得教练器重，但年岁渐长，阿信先天的长短脚令他的体操水平难以提高，又拗不过开水果铺的母亲要求，只得终止训练卖水果，并与好友菜脯（柯宇纶 饰）日日在街头和各路人马拼斗，并因此结缘为他传递打杀通知的电话秘书559（林辰唏 饰）。为了替昔日体操队友的摊档出头，阿信和菜脯开罪黑道大哥之子木瓜（陈汉典 饰），并连番让木瓜出丑，木瓜诱使菜脯吸毒，为阿信设下陷阱，结果反被菜脯重伤。阿信和菜脯只得远赴台北躲祸，少年时的体操梦，此时已变得模糊不清……

The two must face off in a battle to the death, in which they are forced to reveal the horrible truth behind their addiction to murder.　　“Brutal” takes an interesting approach to its visuals, drawing heavy influence from Western “Grindhouse” films, using a filter to make the footage appear grainy, damaged, and with light and color fluctuations. Unfortunately, the visual styling ends up feeling misguided, as other than applying the filter it does not imitate any other aspects of the “Grindhouse” genre. Despite trying to dirty up the film, it is apparent it was shot on digital. The cinematography is also a step above most “Grindhouse” productions, with Takashi Hirose proving he has talent behind the camera. Exterior shots to those taking place in small spaces are all competently framed, lit, and transition well. The decision to add an effect on top of the work hurts the film’s imagery and even gives a sense of desperation to try to capture a certain type of nostalgia with the audience, instead of relying on its own strengths. It is unfortunate when one creative choice can hurt a production so much.　　The story of “Brutal” is simple but effective, it does attempt some sort of social commentary about the violent nature of men and women, but it does not offer enough depth into the subject to justify the amount of violence on display. The film does end on a strong note with an interesting twist, with a reveal that is bound to gross some out, while giving others a chuckle. In spite of its simple nature, those who enjoy films that make them somewhat uncomfortable and enjoy the challenge of getting through some ultra-violence, “Brutal” poses a fun and entertaining challenge in that regard.

The biggest land vehicle on earth, a bucket excavator titled Bagger 293, that can move 240,000 cubic meters of dirt each day. Innovation has always meant building bigger, faster, taller, longer and stronger than anything that came before. We’ve seen them in dramatic visual fashion. But how do these actually work? What sets each machine apart. What big ideas drove its evolution and what limitations did this machine overcome? What forces was it built to withstand and where is the breaking point? Using CGI and expert insights, we ‘strip down’ the design of some of the world’s unique colossal machines and reveal mechanical secrets that not only made them work, but also changed the world in a big way!
　　Each episode explores four incredible machines, linked thematically. From sea and space faring designs, to mega airborne, mining and industrial machines, we’ll break down what they can do as well as key inner mechanics and materials that make it all possible. Dynamic archival footage featuring; slow motion, aerials, and time-lapses get us past the ‘caution’ tape and up close and personal with these compound monsters. CGI provides breakouts and blueprints and a look at hidden mechanisms. Adding expertise of structural, mechanical, chemical and forensic engineers to help reveal what’s at stake when these colossal constructions are put work, and how all the pieces come together to make a big impact.

　　映画『マザーレイク』が、2016年夏に公開される。
　　同作は、世界的な写真賞を受賞して滋賀に戻ってきた31歳の藤居亮介を主人公に、11歳の亮介が琵琶湖に棲むとされる首長竜・通称「ビワッシー」の存在を証明するために繰り広げた、ひと夏の冒険を描いた作品。「夢を追いかけること」と「信じること」、「夢を諦めること」と「疑うこと」をテーマに掲げ、全編にわたって滋賀で撮影が行われるという。
　　キャストには、31歳の亮介を演じる内田朝陽をはじめ、鶴田真由、高橋メアリージュン、木ノ本嶺浩、高橋ユウ、津田寛治、斉木しげる、大和田伸也、別所哲也らが名を連ねている。また、公開オーディションで選出された地元のキャストや50人以上の子どもたちも出演する。
　　監督は、高岡蒼佑の主演映画『ROUTE42』などを手掛けた瀬木直貴。脚本は、演劇作品に加えて映像作品も発表している劇団「月面クロワッサン」の代表・作道雄が担当している。
